Knee is a very important part of the body. It is one of the most essential joints of the body. Therefore knee stretches exercises are very important for a fit and healthy body. Usually we overlook stretch exercises but these are important as we tend to loose flexibility with our growing age.
Let’s have a quick look on some knee stretching exercises which can be done easily to keep our self fit and in shape.
- Calf Stretch: In this first you stretch out your feet. Take a towel or any kind of cloth and hold it in such a way that each hand hold two end of the towel respectively, making a loop. Now put this loop around your foot and try to pull the toes towards you. You will feel a stretch in your calf muscle. Hold the posture for 20 seconds and do this for five times.
- Quadricep Stretch: First stand up and try to hold the back of a chair for balance. Try to bend your knee backward by touching the ankle with one hand. Bend as much it is possible, hold in the position for thirty seconds and come back to your normal position. Do this with both legs for at least 5 times.
- Hamstring Stretch: Sit on the floor or a mat stretching out your both legs. Try to spread your arms and reach out to your legs fingers. Try to catch them. Keep your knees straight and try to bend your waist as much as possible. Hold the posture for ten seconds, relax and gently come back to normal position. Repeat this for five times.
Things to remember While doing These Exercises
- Gently and slowly do the stretches.
- Keep on breathing while stretching
- Don’t do over stretching
- Always try to balance the stretching
