Almost everyone has heard of Low Carb diets. These have become so popular in recent years. The Atkins regime is probably the most popular cut food carbohydrates.

There are others, all of which have been marketed aggressively throughout the country. People are ready to pounce on any new regime that seems better than the last one that they tried. There are millions of books, radio and television advertising pushes regime after regime.

Do we know whether they are safe and effective? The whole foundation of the Low Carb Diet is to reduce carbohydrates. The theory is they promote the production of insulin which is equivalent to a weight gain.

You can begin with the quick start for a few weeks. Then you need to follow another plan. Go with one that will encourage you to take off more weight and keep it off.

When your body starts to burn carbohydrates, water is released. The results are the sharp drop in initial weight at the beginning. But this is nothing other than the water you lose due to burning carbohydrates.

Most diets that are low in carbohydrates are surprisingly rich in fat. They claim that you are allowed to eat unlimited meat, cream and butter. To a normal person this is not very healthy.

There is no way for a person to eat much fatty food. Nor justify that it is safe to do so. In fact, these diets that are low in carbohydrates and high in fats are nothing other than an invitation for heart disease.

This allows you to sort of custom create your own regime. Suffice it and be health conscious of what you decide. Make sure you include fiber and plenty of water.

That means you can eat as much bacon as you want. However, you must stay away from cereals, fruits, beans, potatoes, rice, pasta and some vegetables. This is not safe!

Complete your exercise as early in the day as possible. Later in the day you start to a compromise a good night’s sleep. Your body will be charged, but your mind will want to rest and go to sleep.

The truth is that it does not matter if you eat a high-or low-carb diet. You will lose weight if you restrict your calories. You must also watch the types of foods that you consume too.
