1. Instead of sitting, stand up and walk around when you pick up a call.  

2. Doing chores around the house can burn up to 420 calories per hour.

3. Park further away from your destination. This will not just save you time of driving around the parking lot but it will give you extra exercise by walking.

4. Drink ice cold water. An 8 ounce glass of water burns approximately 8 calories depending on your BMI. If you drink 8 glasses a day, you will burn an extra 64 calories.

5. Always take the stairs instead of elevators or escalators. Every time you take the stairs, you burn about 10 calories.

6. Laugh more! A study revealed that 10 to 15 minutes laughter per day could burn between 10 to 40 extra calories per year. This means that you could lose 4 pounds in a year just by laughing alone.

7. When reading the news or having a cup of coffee, try standing around. Depending on how much you weigh, you could burn extra 50 calories per hour.

8. Walk, Walk and Walk. Walk to lunch if you have time, walk your dog, walk to wherever you can. 15 minutes’ brisk walking will burn at least 100 calories.

9. Eat spicy dishes. It’s been proven that spices like chilli can raise the metabolic rate by 50% for up to 3 hours.

10. Drink caffeine. Coffee or green tea can stimulate your metabolism.
