An Interview With Tyler Shields – A Modest Celebrity Photographer Who Oozes Talent.
11Jan
2011Are you familiar with the name Tyler Shields? I have to admit I wasn’t either until a few days ago. Like often on the Internet, I got distracted from reading my email. I was on AOL and a picture grabbed my eye. It was of Danny Trejo the main character of the movie Machete looking kind of crazy with blood spattered on the wall behind him. The story wasn’t about the movie Machete, but rather a photographer who blew up big in 2010. His name is Tyler Shields and my guess is that he will be a household name at some point in 2011. Gone in 60 Seconds: One Minute of Activity to Avoid Storing Calories of a Meal as Body Fat.

2010“Why didn’t I think of that!” This is exactly what I thought when reading this “hack” in Tim Ferriss’s new book, The 4-Hour Body. Become Superhuman – Nate Green and Tim Ferriss
15Dec
2010On a lazy Saturday in 2007 I finished a book that was recommended to me by a close mentor.
Two hours later I had quit my job as a trainer at a health club, wrote a plan to open my own fitness studio and get into magazines, and booked a weeklong trip to Central America.
(My mom, understandably, flipped out.)
The book wasn’t the cause of my newfound adventure-seeking and impulse decision making; the desire to “do something” with my life had been brewing ever since I dropped out of community college, and I’d already taken the first few steps to live the life of my dreams.
But it certainly gave me a big shove to keep going.
